I’m back… and a LOLtiel

Back from Topeka. Had fun. Coned away 11th place on my last run, wound up 17th. Had fun anyway. Truck was well-behaved there and back, even when dealing with one of Ike’s feeder bands on the way into Columbia, Missouri, a week ago Saturday. More later. Maybe. πŸ˜‰

I’m partial to mid-to-large-breed dogs, too. But yes, I’ve had a thing for birds for years, even long before I ever met Misty Lackey and Larry Dixon. One of my late uncles had a duck pond in his back yard stocked with all manner of waterfowl, both local and exotic. And I always liked the African Grey parrots I met (Elsie and Issac, Misty’s two Greys, don’t much care for anyone but Misty, but they’re still cool birds). And raptors! At my old apartment, I had a red tail hawk and a kestrel that would hang out on my balcony railing. The birds seem to know this — in stores, and at Parrot Jungle in Miami, Florida, they’ll sidle up to me for skritches. Larry says it’s because I’ve been “cuted” by Kechara the Goffin Cockatoo and other birds recognize this. πŸ™‚

It does go. Lifestuff(TM) has been a bit hectic. I may post about what’s going on at some point in the not terribly distant future. Just not yet.

Real cars. And while I can run local events locally, Nationals is Nationals and this year, as it has been since 1995, Nationals is in Topeka. Still don’t know where it’s going to be next year — supposedly will be announced October 15th.
