Some words of wisdom from your ol’ Uncle Ted

Nugent, that is. This link will take you to a guest editorial in today’s Detroit News from the Motor City Madman, addressed at the year’s crop of high school and college graduates.

Say what you will about the Nuge, his hunting, and his politics (for the record, I’m nowhere near as fervent about either hunting or politics as he is), there is an awful lot there that not only do I agree with, but are things I’ve tried to teach the just-graduated-from-HS Miss E. She will be getting a copy of this.

Feel free to share.

But even working hard doesn’t guarantee you anything. No, it doesn’t. There are no guarantees in life aside from the certainty that it is finite. But working hard gives you a much better chance at success than sitting around complaining, placing blame on “Them”, and making excuses while waiting for family/government/charity/the world to bail your lazy ass out.
