Procrastination and excuses and more about David Honigsberg

The trip report *will* continue. Really. I’m just a bit… distracted right now.

My rather strong reaction to David’s death has surprised even me. I didn’t expect that, but with a little thought, it makes sense. David wasn’t ever in-your-face about things, he was just THERE. A steady, calming influence — humor to defuse rather than deflect, wisdom in just the right measure. That subtle approach must’ve worked, ’cause he made his way into your heart pretty deeply. It’s fortunate that he used these powers for good and not for evil.

UPDATE: There is a memorial blog set up for David at http://davidhonigsberg.blogspot.com. There you will find information on his funeral services Friday in NYC, and also a link should you desire to contribute to the fund to defray the funeral and related expenses, which are substantial. More linkage to info about David Honigsberg can be found in his LJ at dochyel.
